immago now offer plantable seed tags for complete eco solution

We are once again keeping ahead of the curve when it comes to our clients’ business needs and we are excited to announce that we now offer plantable seed tags for our customers.

This revolutionary new technology allows for 100% recycling of hang tags, clothing labels, and production information.

From factory to flower, these seed tags can grow in a few centimetres of soil and bloom into a wonderful bouquet of wildflowers.

What are plantable seed tags?

Our plantable seed tags are made from a biodegradable eco-paper (post-consumer materials) with flower seeds embedded within. When the paper is planted in a pot of soil, the seeds grow and the paper composts away. All that is left behind is flowers, herbs or vegetables, and no waste.

Old paper materials are pulped into a mush, and then the seeds are added. This pulp is then dried and pressed into paper, with the seeds rooted inside, ready to be buried when you’re finished with the tag.

Better for the environment

These new seed tags work just as well as regular tags, only they don’t leave a little piece of plastic behind to pollute the planet.

They can come in various shapes and sizes, can be dyed most colours, and can have anything you want to be printed on them.

The ink used is water or soy-based with organic pigments that are not going to harm anything in the area where this is getting planted.

The seeds can either be removed from the paper to be planted or the whole piece can be planted in the soil.

This zero-waste policy not only helps the environment but stops further resources being used when creating the packaging in the first place.

Sustainability – better for your business

With today’s consumers becoming more and more environmentally conscious, “going green” is now no longer just an added bonus for a company, it’s essential.

Sustainability is a key issue for all companies, and the public is looking for a real, active change instead of vague promises and good intentions.

Transparency, dedication, and honesty are all top of the list for the younger generation when it comes to what they look for in a company.

By offering plantable seed tags on your clothing, you are setting out your intention of sustainable practices and commitment to becoming as green as can be.

What will grow from seed tags?

Our plantable seed tags are a mixture of wildflowers, all of which have been approved for planting in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, USA, EU, UK, and many other countries worldwide. We only use Non-GMO seeds that are of the highest quality and germination.

The flowers which will grow include:

Black-eye Susan (Rudbeckia hirta)

A cheerful flowering plant that belongs to the sunflower family. It is renowned for its beautiful golden, orange or bicolour flowers, adorned with up to 8-20 rays and dark chocolate, dome-shaped cones. Black-eye Susan is ridiculously easy to grow and largely trouble-free.

Woodland Forget-me-not (Myosotis sylvatica)

The woodland forget-me-not is short-lived but blooms into a carpet of rich blue flowers, which form the perfect background to wallflowers and tulips. The nectar of this flower is adored by bees and butterflies and is a remarkably low-maintenance flower.

February Lan or Chinese Violet Cress (Orychophragmus violaceus)

This gorgeous little plant is also known as the Bluebell of Japan. A member of the mustard family, it can grow up to 60cms high, with its flowers produced in racemes of up to 25 at a time.

Common Poppy (Papaver rhoeas)

A universal symbol of fallen soldiers since the Great War, the common poppy can grow up to 70cm in height, with the stems only holding a single, scarlet flower.

Lavender (Lavandula)

Great for garden borders, cooking and potpourri, lavenders are deliciously fragrant when crushed or even brushed against. Lavender is actually a shrub that can grow up to 2 metres in height, but originating in the Mediterranean it can grow well in dry conditions on very little water.
