Why woven labels add something special to your brand
All good products need a good label, one which fits with your brand identity. A printed label is one thing, but if you want to take your finished product to the next level, then a woven label is the way to do it.
The devil is in the detail
Across the board, from cars to cardigans, poorly constructed items are given away by the details.
When it comes to clothes, it’s the smallest details that tell the real story.
The quality of the fabric, the workmanship of the stitching… it is only when clothing is examined closely can the true quality be appreciated. All jeans look the same from a distance, but when inspected in detail, there is a reason why Levi Strauss are still in business after 150 years.
The label is an important part of this attention to detail. The equivalent of a painter signing his canvass, a label is your way of displaying your work, signing off with a finishing touch that matches the quality of the product.
Why you should always choose the option of woven labels
Woven labels are the icing on the cake when it comes to your finished product. Consumers know that a finely woven label takes more time and money to create than a printed one. This dedication to quality gets recognised and appreciated, and becomes associated with your brand.
Brand identity is an essential part of a successful business, and in order to build a successful brand, one in which customers return to, you need to let them know your quality is always there, even in something as small as a label.
The woven label manufacturing process
With over 35 years’ experience in making woven labels, we have mastered the process. From our clients’ concepts, right through to their garments displayed in the store, we have made each step of the procedure as simple, efficient, and effective as possible.
Step one – concept and design
To start things off, the client will give a brief for the design. This brief will cover brand imaging, including colours, size, logos and any text to be included on the label. Once we have a feel for what’s needed, our designers get to work and come up with a proposed design for the label. We send our proposal back to the client, and once everything’s approved, we’re ready for the next stage in the manufacturing process.
Step two – the prototype
Using special weaving software, the artwork is transferred into a digital image, ready for the computer to take over. Unique colours and sizes are added, as well as complex details such as weaving tension, warp type, number of picks per cm, and finishing.
Once all the details are created digitally, a test label is woven on the loom. Finished off by hand, the prototypes are then sent to the client for approval.
Step three – large scale production
Once the test labels are approved, the design is scheduled for production. The large industrial looms are used for mass production, and once the required number are produced, they are all joined together in one long roll. These rolls are checked for quality and faults, and if there are no problems, the next step is the relevant finishing machine.
Step four – finishing and boxing
Finishing involves cutting, folding and boxing the labels, ready for dispatch. The finished produced is carefully checked for quality one more time, before being counted and weighed for packing and dispatch across the globe.
Call us for your woven labels
Woven labels connect your customer to your brand when they are standing in the store. A high-quality, woven label demonstrates professionalism, dedication and style.
All the woven labels we make are created on high-speed looms, using a variety of weave structures, including satin, tafetta and damask. Once labels are woven, manufacturing is completed with a range of label finishes, the most common being end fold, loop fold and heat cut.
